Gata Maula is formed by Cristina Sagrera and Aarón Sánchez Tolosa, booksellers in two of the major bookstores in Girona, the now-defunct Librería Geli, and Librería 22. In 2018, we met working together during the MOT Literary Festival, and the rest, as they say, is history.

This experience has allowed us to take note of the criteria, tastes, and preferences of hundreds of readers over many years.

We aim to honor this Catalan expression and bring forth new and daring proposals, designed to captivate readers who wander the corners of each bookstore with feline curiosity.

We want to offer as a publisher what we would like to recommend as booksellers: Writers from all over the world who have never been given a voice in Catalan, inexplicably forgotten classics, and new releases that have seven lives.
